Seven SEG student members will be led by Dr. Harold Gibson of Laurentian University as well as Ron Burk and Guillermo Lozano of Silver Standard Resources on a tour of the Mexican Silver Belt. (Check back to see how the trip went!)

Several members participate in their very first underground tour! They visited the Garson Ramp to learn about mining operation and about the structurally-controlled deformed contact and footwall deposits of the SIC found at Garson underground and Garson ramp.

Dr. William Chavez from New Mexico School of Mines, Socorro, New Mexico presented an excellent talk entitled: "Economic Demands for Minerals Exploration: The Significance and Understanding of Porphyry Copper Systems". This was part of the SEG International Exchange Lecturer program.
