Biomechanics of Living Tissues

This course explores biomechanics, with a focus on the mechanical behaviour of biological tissues such as bone, cartilage, muscle, and tendon. The course examines experimental techniques for quantifying mechanical behaviour and the unique technical challenges associated with testing biological materials. Various constitutive modeling approaches for predicting tissue behaviour are also covered such as orthotropy, hyperelasticity, and viscoelasticity. PREREQ: ENGR 2076. (lec 3) cr 3. Lecture (3. 00).
