This course describes the methods, processes and equipment used for the prevention of air pollution arising from particulate and gaseous emissions. Topics covered include control of particulate contaminant emissions (electrostatic precipitation, fabric filtration, wet scrubbing, mechanical dust collection), control of gaseous contaminant emissions (incineration, adsorption, absorption, atmospheric dispersion), and cost estimation in air pollution control. Prerequisite: ENGR 2276. (lec 3) cr 3.
